Robyn Flipse, MS, RD

Robyn Flipse.Robyn Flipse is a registered dietitian specializing in nutrition communications.

Having spent her career in dietetics as a counselor, teacher, writer and media spokesperson, Robyn has become an important resource for easy-to-understand nutrition information and user-friendly suggestions that help make good eating habits part of daily living. Her ability to interpret the research behind the latest nutrition headlines and analyze changing diet and health trends has earned her countless fan nationwide.

Robyn is the author of two popular nutrition and diet books, The Wedding Dress Diet (Random House) and Fighting the Freshman Fifteen (Three Rivers Press). In addition, she has contributed expert commentary to such publications and media outlets as The New York Times, The Washington Post, SELF, Glamour, and Good Housekeeping, as well as Lifetime Television, FOX News Channel, and CNN. She is also frequently called upon by USA Today for quotes that help separate fact from hype for the newspaper's food, diet and nutrition news coverage.

An active member of the American Dietetic Association, Robyn has been the Media Representative for the New Jersey Dietetic Association since 1986 and has served as a member of an American Academy of Family Physicians MD/RD Spokesperson Team since 1997. Locally, she has been active in civic organizations including the Monmouth-Ocean County Food Bank, Trinity Church Saturday Soup Kitchen, the RSVP Reading Buddies Program, Girls on the Run and the Two River Theater Company.

Robyn's career in dietetics includes more than 20 years in private practice providing medical nutrition therapy to individuals and small groups in central New Jersey. She has also taught on the faculty of Rutgers University, Brookdale Community College, and Middlesex County College; held advisory positions on the boards of health care organizations; and served as a consultant to global food and pharmaceutical companies.

Robyn holds both a Master of Science degree in human nutrition and dietetics and a Master of Arts degree in cultural anthropology from Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey and an undergraduate degree in nutrition from Florida State University.
