Kim Galeaz, RD, CD

Kim Galeaz. Kim Galeaz is a registered dietitian and owner of Galez Food & Nutrition Communications based in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a culinary-nutrition expert, writer and media spokesperson, she consults with supermarkets, restaurants, agriculture organizations and food and beverage companies to promote balanced nutrition and active lifestyle messages.

Kim has appeared on CNBC, WGN and hundreds of local TV and radio stations throughout the United States. She is a regular guest on WIBC 1070 AM radio in Indianapolis and is considered to be the Official Dietitian for the Dave Wilson Show. For nearly twenty years, her practical nutrition advice has been featured in dozens of local and national newspapers, magazines, books and websites, including Rodale Book Division, USA Today, Indianapolis Star, Good Housekeeping, Men’s Fitness and Shape.

Passionate about blending good foods, great taste and sensible nutrition, Kim currently devotes much of her time to creating and developing recipes for magazine, food/beverage company and supermarket clients. Her creations reflect her food and healthy lifestyle philosophies: Healthy eating is not an all or nothing proposition. It’s more like 80/20. Eat healthy 80% of the time so you can enjoy treats and fun foods 20% of the time.

Beyond all things culinary, Kim is passionate about public radio and television in Indianapolis and since 1990, has served as on-air talent for the spring and fall membership campaigns. Never one to miss an opportunity to talk about food and nutrition, she shares smart eating messages when appropriate during the radio and television pledge drives. She recently hosted live, in-studio pledge breaks with Rick Bayless, the Chicago-based award winning chef and host of the nationwide PBS show, Mexico: One Plate at a Time.

She is an active member of the American Dietetic Association and several specialty dietetic practice groups, including Food & Culinary Professionals, Dietitians in Business & Communications and Nutrition Entrepreneurs. Kim is a past Media Spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association (1990-1995) and received the Indiana Dietetic Association’s Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award in 1992 and Member Media Award in 2004.
