Susan Roberts, PH.D.
Associate Director, Health & Wellness

Susan Roberts, Ph.D. is associate director, Health and Nutrition at The Beverage Institute for Health & Wellness, The Coca-Cola Company.

For over 15 years, Dr. Roberts has helped The Coca-Cola Company Company develop a global research strategy to lead beverage innovation through health and wellness. Dr. Roberts has supported the research behind a number of new product launches with nutritional and health benefits -- including Minute Maid® Kids +™ 100% orange juice, Minute Maid® Heart Wise™ 100% orange juice with phytosterols -- and a number of international launches, including Vitingo® -- a multi-nutrient beverage fortified with 12 vitamins and minerals that supports improved mineral absorption and nutritional status in children.

While Dr. Roberts deals with global health and wellness issues, her major focus is on developments in the fields of obesity, nutrient bioavailability and phytochemicals. Dr. Robert's responsibilities involve working closely with marketing, legal and regulatory experts to understand new innovative opportunities for the beverage industry.

Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company Company, Dr. Roberts served as principle research scientist at Mead Johnson Nutritionals in Evansville, Indiana, where she supported the development of a line of toddler foods, Mead Johnson's first entrance into the category. While at Mead Johnson, Dr. Roberts also served on the company cross-functional innovation team which had responsibilities to lead the organization's growth objectives.

Dr. Roberts sits on the Florida Department of Citrus scientific advisory board and holds professional memberships in The American Society for Nutritional Sciences, The American Society for Clinical Nutrition, The American College of Nutrition, Dietitian's of Canada and The Institute of Food Technologists.

She received a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and Dietetics and Masters degrees at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
